My unlce tried to commit suicide twice within the last 2 weeks. He first sent out a message on facebook saying that he was going to end his life. A bunch of us sent him messages back telling him we loved him.
His ex wife called the girl he was upset about (his current girlfriend, apparantly they've been having serious problems as of late) - and she went over with the police. (This is in Norway...where he lives, my moms brother). They were able to get him to agree to go to a psyhic ward. He went for less than 24 hours.
He got out, called his daughter, and then went and stood on a brigde for about 6 hours trying to decide if he was going to jump or not. He caused the worse traffic back-up in the history of Norway. He was removed from the bridge and taken to a ward for 1 week (he is currently there now).
We believe the Norwegien government will ask him to leave the country, for the trouble he caused (it appears). Which is good. He needs to be back in the states with his family. He's just had a rough time, losing his ex-wife to cancer, then 2 years later his son was killed in a car accident. Two years after that his newest wife divorced him....and now he's having issues with this new woman. And he's never sought professional help for all the loses he's suffered.
I just feel really helpless and sad about that.

Mike's mom has cancer.
She went to the dentist and they found some odd leison under her tongue (along with her alcoholism, she's smoke for 30 some years). They did a biopsy, and last night they told her it was, in deed, cancerous. They have to do another biopsy to see if it's invasive or not. And then what decisions to make from that point.
Crazy thing, when Mike asked her if she'd stop drinking and smoking, she couldn't answer. Mind you, she lost her 2nd husband to lung cancer. They were sitting on the couch, and his head hit her shoulder....he was dead.
I'm trying to get MIke to talk to my dad, since he lost his mom to breastcancer. I dunno.
That's the new stuff in my life.
