Ugh...

I know, I know, I know.

Last night I went to the International Food Market so I could buy some meat, fruits, and veggies. I typically try to go there because it's a LOT cheaper than the "national food chain" grocery stores.

Anyway - I was able to buy Ribeye Steaks (12 for $5.37), Pork Chops with the bone in (8 for $4.58), and then a bunch of chicken breast, thighs, and legs (my fav).

Also in the fresh veggie isle they had crimini mushrooms (I only know those are supposed to be good because of Top Chef and Chopped and other cooking shows). Well the mushrooms were .50c and then they had some other types of mushrooms. Oh yeah, and I also bought some "already made Marinade" in the seasonings isle. It was Montreal Steak flavor.

So I came home and marinade'd the ribeye steaks which was easy. Then I peeled the skins off of sweet potatos and cut them up in squares so they'd cook quicker (I put them in a pot of boiling water so I could mash them up like regular ol potato's). Then I made some snow peas and I also fried some plantains.

Well I let the steaks 'soak up' the marinade for about an hour (while I did baby's laundry and played with the dog). In crazy hindsight -- I was thinking back to this Rachel Ray show where she was making these mushrooms. So after I cooked the steak, I cut up the mushrooms and cooked them in that leftover gravy.

OMG --- best damn thing I could have done!!!

Tonight I am doing the porkchops with another marinade with the rest of the mushrooms...I am soo ready!

Glee!!
